PADI Coralyfe Reef First Aid Specialty Course

As a certified diver, you’ve likely encountered discarded fishing gear, coral damage, and marine debris during your dives. You also understand the vital role healthy coral reefs play in our planet’s well-being. Being equipped with the skills to correctly remove debris and ghost nets while diving, and to identify and repair damaged coral is crucial for their survival.

Developed with our partner Coralyfe, the PADI Coralyfe Reef First Aid specialty course will teach you how to identify and repair common coral damage while scuba diving. In addition to hands-on first aid of the reef, you will conduct a reef health survey of our local islands of Ao Nang, contributing to citizen science. Your data helps research groups and NGO’s dedicated to understanding and protecting our underwater environments.

The PADI Coralyfe Reef First Aid specialty course can be added on to the Advanced Open Water course as a package.

PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) Specialty Course

Enriched air, commonly referred to as nitrox or EANx, contains less nitrogen than regular air. By having a higher oxygen percentage in the air you breathe while diving, you consume less nitrogen, giving you longer no decompression times. This is particularly beneficial for repetitive dives. Diving on nitrox has become very popular in many areas of the world where dive sites tend to be between 18 and 35 metres deep.

If you desire longer bottom times and shorter breaks between dives, our nitrox specialty course is perfect for you. During the course you will study theory via PADI E-learning, and learn how to use an oxygen air analyser and configure dive computers. The course includes two dives on nitrox on beautiful dive sites of the Krabi area. In just a day you will master safe diving practices and become a fully qualified PADI Enriched Air Diver, ensuring you’re well-prepared for your future dives on nitrox.

The PADI PADI Enriched Air specialty course can be added on to the Advanced Open Water course as a package.

PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty Course

Good buoyancy is crucial as a diver: it both enhances your dive experience and minimises your environmental impact. Proper buoyancy control allows you to glide and manoeuvre with ease underwater, decreasing disturbances to marine life and underwater ecosystems, all while having better air consumption.

Our PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course builds on the fundamentals learned in your Open Water course. You will learn to achieve neutral buoyancy, hover in multiple positions, optimise weighting and practise multiple other skills that will assist you with fine-tuning your buoyancy.

PADI Shark Conservation Specialty Course

Sharks aren’t monsters; they play a crucial role in a balanced marine ecosystem. In our PADI AWARE Shark Conservation Specialty course, we explore the significance of sharks to our planet, their vulnerabilities, and practical steps for their protection.

This course involves self-study, two guided dives, and earns you certification as a PADI Shark Conservation Diver. In addition to our PADI resources, we work with our partner organisation, Shark Guardian, to be able to give you the most accurate and current information on shark conservation. During dives, you’ll identify potential hazards to sharks, impacting their health. If you’re fortunate, you might spot species like blacktip reef sharks, leopard sharks (zebra sharks), or even Whale sharks around the Phi Phi islands. Whether you’re curious or concerned, this course equips you with the knowledge to be a responsible defender of sharks.
