Diving Information

Despite being a PADI 5 Star IDC Center, we accept certifications from all recognised agencies, such as PADI, NAUI, CMAS, SSI, RAID and many more. Contact us to ensure your certification meets our requirements. Don’t forget to provide us with proof of your qualification.

If you have a PADI certification, we should be able to find you in our system, please contact us ahead of time to make sure we can find it. If you are certified via another agency and can’t find your card (physical or digital), contact the certifying agency to obtain a replacement before the trip.

We highly recommend you to follow the PADI guideline, which is to keep at least an 18-24 hour gap between your no-decompression dives and your flight.

All customers must fill out the PADI Medical Questionnaire form prior to a dive trip, following the stated guidelines and requirements. In some cases, you will be required to get a medical assessment from a doctor before being able to dive.

Of course! There are many options for people who wear glasses. One is to wear contact lenses. Daily disposables are best in case you lose one during the mask skills. If you prefer not to wear contact lenses, then a prescription mask is a great alternative. These can be difficult to hire out, especially one that matches your eyesight requirements; therefore, we advise investing in one of your own.

When a certified diver has not dived in over a year, we require them to do a refresher course. You will still participate in two fun dives, however, you will need to go over some basic skills and safety guidelines before going on your fun dives. Read more on our Refresher page.

You will find the best visibility in the dry season from November to April, but Krabi offers good diving year-round. Dive trips to Phi Phi are subject to weather conditions in monsoon season.

Water temperature averages between 28-31 °C all year round.

For safety reasons, basic swimming skills are mandatory for diving with us.

Dive durations vary based on depth, air consumption, conditions and many other factors, but are typically around 45 minutes to an hour.

You will always only dive to the maximum depth your certification allows you to. In Phi Phi islands, depths can reach 30 metres, and in local islands dive site depths rarely pass 18 metres.

We do not have cameras for rent, but you’re welcome to bring your own to capture the underwater beauty. Please note that according to Thai regulations, you are only allowed to bring a camera with you on the dive if you are a certified Advanced Open Water Diver and/or have over 40 dives.

We do not offer night dives at the moment.

Our prices include a full set of Scubapro dive gear for divers and all required snorkelling gear for snorkellers. Please note a dive computer can be rented for an extra fee.

You can rent a dive computer by booking it through us no later than the day before your dive. We highly recommend all certified divers to have their own personal dive computer.

Absolutely, you’re welcome to use your own equipment for comfort and familiarity. Please let us know ahead of time.

Course Information

The length of the courses varies from one day to two months, depending on what certification you would like to gain. For more information, please visit the course pages where you can find schedules for each course we offer.

If for any reason you cannot complete your PADI course, you will be given a referral form. The referral form is valid for one year and can be taken to another PADI dive shop to complete your course.

For courses with available PADI e-learning materials, you will be completing those prior to your first water training session. Many of them are provided in various languages to accommodate your language needs. The theory needs to be completed one day prior to the training at the latest. Upon a successful payment of a 50% course deposit, you will be provided with login details to access the e-learning materials.

Freediving Information

Snorkelling involves looking at the underwater world from the surface, whilst skin diving takes snorkelling a little further by doing short dives. freediving, however, teaches you advanced breathing techniques to allow you to spend more time underwater and go deeper. Read more on our freediving course page.

For the freediving course, you need to be a minimum of 15 years of age and complete a medical history form. Check out the freediving courses we offer at Fast Manta.

No, at the moment we only offer freediving courses.

Snorkelling Information

You need to be able to swim comfortably to join a snorkelling trip with us. Anytime you are in the water, you will have a lifejacket with you and the instructor will always be there to supervise and communicate with you so you can learn and feel at ease during your trip.
